The Arthritis Portal highlights from 2024

Colourful fireworks and a dark sky

2024 is coming to an end, and it’s time for a retrospective on some of the things we’ve written about during the year. Perhaps you’ve missed some of the articles, or maybe you’d like to revisit something.

Throughout the year, we’ve had the opportunity to speak with several specialist physiotherapists and learn more about topics such as how osteoarthritis schools works and how to approach exercise when you can no longer do what you usually would. Here’s one of the interviews with Andrea Dell’isola, and here’s an interview with Thérése Jönsson and Elin Östlind.

We’ve also covered research news of various kinds. For example, we’ve written about whether krill oil has any effect on knee osteoarthritis, the importance of proper strength training, and how similar concepts to the Swedish osteoarthritis school work abroad.

Additionally, we’ve followed the progress of doctoral student Amanda Sjögren and received an update on what it looks like halfway through her doctoral studies. During the fall, we also had the opportunity to read about one of her and her colleagues’ studies that was published—feel free to read about it here.

Last summer, we also featured Simone Battista, who completed his time as a doctoral student and had his thesis published—you can find it here.

Artrosportalen wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
